The other day I was eating my 112th cookie of the holiday season and thought to myself, "Eh - who cares? My New Years resolution is to lose weight and train more anyway. No big deal." Now, I know myself. I'm pretty good at sticking to a diet and training routine. Fortuntely, my job and schedule allow me to do so! But not everyone has that luxury.
 

Recently we were introduced to fellow MMA fan, Ruby Valadez and were awed by her story. Ruby is a single mother of four children. Her youngest daughter was born with Congenital Hydrocephalus, which is a buildup of excess cerebrospinal fluid in the brain at birth. As a result, she suffers from a variety of ailments including respiratory distress, diabetes, blindness and epileptic seizures.

Is it just us, or do the holidays come and go faster than the latest Chuck Liddell retiremement announcement? Now that all the presents are unwrapped and the cleaning is done it's back to reality MMA fans:(

Well, he did it again. Scott Smith came back to KO Cung Le in the third round of their Strikeforce bout last night in San Jose. Not too long after his record-setting 7-second KO of Tim Hague at UFC 102, it was announced that Todd Duffee's next opponent would be Paul Buentello at UFC 107. However, an indisclosed injury forced Duffee to withdraw from the Buentello bout.

The decision did not come easily. Duffee was quoted as saying, "Withdrawing was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make."
