We're proud to announce we've recently signed WEC veteran Rani Yahya to a promotional contract for his upcoming bout against John Hosman. Rani has a record of 11-3 and was scheduled to fight Kenji Osawa at WEC 42 this Sunday. However, a foot injury suffered by Osawa, forced the organization to replace him with Hosman. As with many Brazilian fighters, Rani is a phenomenal jiu-jitsu artist, winning the 66 kg division of the prestigious Abu Dhabi submission-grappling tournament in April 2007.
 
Yahya made his WEC debut against Mark Hominick at WEC 28 on May 3, 2007 defeating Hominick in the first round via rear naked choke. Recently, Yahya defeated former WEC bantamweight champion Eddie Wineland at WEC 40 on April 5, 2009. He currently trains with the Arena MMA Fight Team (www.thearenamma.com) in San Diego alongside Diego Sanchez, Fabricio Morango Camoes, Xande Ribeiro and many other pro fighters.
