Marathoners to run 325 miles in 7 days!

Greek Runner: Pheidippides

Commited? Determined? Motivated? Or just plain crazy? You be the judge.

Yesterday, UniversalSports.com reported on two Greeks who will run from Athens to Sparta and then back to Marathon as a tribute to the soldier-messenger Pheidippides.

Maria Polyzou (the Greek women's marathon record-holder) and Panayiotis Skoulis will attempt to pull this stunt off in just seven days. That means, the two distance runners will have to complete a double marathon every day for a week!

While the task may seem daunting to some (and downright INSANE to others), Skoulis and Polyzou insist they are up to the task. All of us here at BORN STRONGER wish them the best!

What do you think? Is running 325 miles in 7 days brave, stupid or a little bit of both?

Ultra distance running

Hi everyone,
running 325 mile in 7 days sounds very tough I mentioned it to my uncle Malcolm Campbell who used to be the president of the world ultra marathon runners association.  He told me it takes a special kind of athlete to achieve these feats of endurance.  I suppose he should know in 1985 he ran a race across America called the Lou Gehrig Race for life. This meant covering over 3500 miles in 3 months that works out at 40 miles a day plus fund raising dinners and events the two athletes involved were Marvin Skaggerbord from the US and Malcolm Campbell from the UK  and they were able to raise over one million dollars for the charity that for a cure to the disease known as Lou Gehriggs disease.  So any one who goes for these amazing endurance feats have my utmost respect.  Best of luck to the runners
